When we were in Utah for Calvin's blessing there was a real nice dinner afterward. At that time Shanna's grandma was handing out loaves of bread to all her children, which they all oohed and aahed at having a loaf of grandma's bread.
so I got brave and asked Shanna for the recipe which she sent. After reading it I realized she must surely have an industrial mixer!!!! About 20 cups flour, half dozen eggs, oil, sugar, etc.
So I lost my recipe and Carrie sent me hers which she had realized was a whopping size and she had made a 1/2 for me. To make a long story short. I got out my trusty calculator from Stouffers, yes I still use it, was still afraid it would be too big for my trusty Bosch. So I did 2/3 of the half. So how much is that????
So I got the wheat grinder out and ground some fresh flour.
Started putting everything in the Bosch. And started out for a whole afternoon. This recipe called for 3 risings. No wonder it is such a great recipe. I probably could have done the whole half.
So wal ahh....To LARGE loaves plus two small loaves. I could have gotten more had I made them smaller. But they raised so much in the ( much too smal)oven. So you can see a dark streak on the top of one loaf that rose to the oven and touched the elements in the top. However, diet or not, the bread was really soft and delicious. Thanks to Shanna and her grandma...........
Glad you liked it!
